The Loitering Bird

The concept for this brand began many years ago, inspired by a typeface I created in college. The odd, yet traditionally familiar letterforms evoke a sense of youthful whimsy, which inspired the idea for this bookstore & cafe. I wanted to capture the feeling of a calm, relaxing space, the aesthetic inspired by hole-in-the-wall shops one might find while walking the streets of an English village. The birds themselves might be a favorite of mine – simple, odd, and full of playful charm.
